Pediatric expertise. Practical parenting support.
Sometimes you don't need another parenting book or another late-night search. You need someone who understands kids, understands parents, and can help you figure out what to do next.
Parent and child coaching at UpHold Family Behavioral Health offers practical, individualized guidance for sleep, potty training, behavior, big emotions, routines, and more.

More than a coach
Your coach is Kira Covill, RN, a board-certified pediatric registered nurse whose career spans Labor & Delivery, the NICU, and outpatient pediatric education. That background changes the conversation. Development, temperament, sleep, feeding, health, and family life all affect one another, so we look at the whole child rather than one behavior in isolation.
Our approach is warm, evidence-informed, and never judgmental.
What we can help with
Whether you're getting ready to start, stuck halfway, or facing resistance, accidents, or poop struggles, we'll build a plan around your child rather than a one-size-fits-all method. We cover readiness, temperament, daycare, and nighttime expectations.
Potty training
Personalized plans for readiness, resistance, accidents, and school transitions.
Sleep
Reviewing sleep patterns and routines to build realistic plans for the whole family.
Behavior and life
Support for big emotions, meltdowns, tantrums, and everyday school or home transitions.
Boundaries
Expert guidance on limit-setting, morning and bedtime routines, and sibling challenges.
Connection
Improving communication and separation difficulties through deep empathy and understanding.
How it works
Start with a plan: Coaching Consultation, $299. 60 minutes, one-on-one, plus a personalized action plan.
The Strategy
We'll look closely at what's happening, consider your child's developmental stage, and choose strategies that fit your family. You'll leave knowing: what to do first, what to expect, and how to respond.
Maintenance
Keep it working: Follow-Up Coaching, $199. 45–60 minutes. Follow-ups let us see what's working, troubleshoot what isn't, and adjust.
Expectations
Age/Sessions: Infants 1-2, Preschool 2-4, School-age 3-6+. We'll decide together what makes sense with no upfront package commitment.
I've tried everything
Wondering what to do next?
If you aren't sure if coaching is right for you, let's start with a talk and figure it out together.
Our belief
There is no such thing as a perfect parent or a perfect child. Most of the time, a child's behavior is just their way of telling us something. When we understand that message, it changes how we help. We provide the medical and developmental expertise while you provide the deep knowledge of your own child. Our goal isn't perfection; it's helping you feel steady and sure about your next steps.
Good to know
Coaching is a private-pay service and we do not bill insurance. These sessions are for education and support only. Coaching is not the same as therapy or medical treatment. If we feel your child needs more clinical support, we will happily connect you with our specialized therapy and psychiatric team at Uphold.
You do not have to carry this alone. Let’s start with one talk and build a clear plan for your family.
